Right lobe
The larger lobe, sitting under the right ribs.
Left lobe
Reaches across the midline toward the stomach.
Segment IV
The medial part of the functional left liver. Its inferior portion includes the quadrate region beside the gallbladder.
Caudate lobe
A small posterior lobe hugging the inferior vena cava.
Hepatic portal vein
Brings blood from the digestive tract and other abdominal organs to the liver before it returns to the heart.
Gallbladder
Stores and concentrates bile made by the liver.
